A Global Platform for Diaspora Connection

From Vision to Venture
- Sparked by my experiences at Afro Future and the Year of Return
- My Friend Temi and I hosted Goats Only, a global diaspora party in Accra
- Guests came from the U.S., U.K., Canada, Amsterdam
- Sourcing vendors was hard → revealed a broken infrastructure
- Realized the need for a diaspora-to-ground collaboration platform

- The first year was an instant success.
- We were in awe of people from all parts of the diaspora networking and engaging with each other
- Realized the need for a diaspora-to-ground collaboration platform
- The following year We decided to source all vendors on our own
- We had issues sourcing vendors on our own.
- We had difficulty finding the vendor seven with templates of last year.
- We had to source vendors in the US and see if they were coming to Africa during the same period.
- Our overall intention was to hire mostly African vendors however had to source US vendors.
